Grand Casino Luzern Sets Record Revenues
Grand Casino Luzern Sets Record Revenues and Delivers Major Community Value in 2024
In the 2024 financial year, Grand Casino Luzern, operated by Kursaal-Casino AG Luzern, reinforced its strong market position with outstanding results. The casino achieved a record-breaking Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) of CHF 124.67 million (approx. $152 million) — a 2% increase over the previous year — demonstrating both operational resilience and ongoing appeal to guests in a competitive market.
While annual profits reached CHF 1.03 million ($1.26 million), the real headline is the exceptional level of tax contributions made to society. With casino taxes rising by CHF 1.5 million to reach CHF 61.3 million, nearly half of the entire GGR flowed directly into public coffers. This figure represents almost 60 times the net profit, underscoring Grand Casino Luzern’s significant role as a financial engine for the community and broader society.
This contribution supports a range of public services, including education, infrastructure, and social welfare — making the casino not just a center of entertainment, but also a cornerstone of regional public funding.
The company also secured long-term stability through a new 20-year concession and operational license, granted in autumn 2024. With this solid foundation, the Grand Casino Luzern Group is pursuing a strategy of sustainable and profitable growth, driven by a series of new initiatives even as it faces a dynamic and challenging market environment.
Looking ahead, the Board of Directors and Executive Board remain cautiously optimistic, committed to delivering both shareholder value and continued societal contributions through strategic development and responsible gaming leadership.
